Brown Sugar Vanilla Syrup Recipe – Step-by-Step Guide

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1–2 tsp vanilla extract (or one vanilla bean)

Steps:

  1. Combine Ingredients:  Add 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup water to a small saucepan.
  2. Heat and Stir: Warm over medium heat, stirring until the sugar fully dissolves (do not boil vigorously).
  3. Add Vanilla: Remove from heat. Stir in 1–2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, or steep a split vanilla bean in the hot syrup for extra depth.

 


Cool and Store:

  • Let the syrup cool completely.
  • Pour into a clean glass bottle or jar and store in the fridge for 2–3 weeks.

 

Use this syrup in coffee, tea, cocktails, or pancakes.
